Default PNW or Colorado

If you could move anywhere in the continental U.S., assuming snow sports were important to you, where and why?

Tahoe if purely to shred. Dug the vibe when I was there and the snow was unreal.

Now, If I had to work I'd choose Boulder, CO. Here's why...
http://boulder.is/

300+ days of sunshine with ample opportunity for a computer programmer like myself. And with the mtns a short drive away, It'd be excellent. I've been to Eldora, which is about 30 mins from Boulder. Its not great but this season it got better snow than many of the Summit County Resorts.

Jackson Hole. Or Wilson, Wyoming would be fine.

Believe it or not, I probably agree with MSDOG. I'd go with Jackson Hole or Sandy, UT. I live in Boulder and it's amazing for quality of life and a whole bunch of other stuff, but it's not ideal for snow sports. I'd rather live somewhere real close that I didn't have to drive over an hour. I also think Aspen has to be mentioned too... Kick *** town and kick *** skiing right from your back door.

If employment is a factor: Denver, best fire department to work for in the country right now

If I've hit the lotto and have steady income coming in from an annuity: Tahoe.

Not exactly what I meant- I don't live in Colorado just for snow sports. I actually like mountain biking just as much... and I like doing several other things too. My answer was specifically for a place to live where skiing is the primary driver. If I had to pick a place in the country to live that included everything I'm looking for, there aren't many on the list ahead of where I live right now.

just a matter of perspective. for most of the country, boulder is still about 2 orders of magnitude closer to any good skiing. enjoy it.
