Default olympics death

http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/02/12/...ex.html?hpt=C1

that's extremely sad to see a 21 year old die while practicing.I feel terrible for his family for him to make it all the way to the olympics only to pass lke this. They showed the video on cnn and the worst thing is you can hear the ding when he hits the pole alongside the course. sad tone set for tonight's opening ceremony.

I saw the video of it. Kinda tough to watch. Very dangerous sport but I don't understand why the poles were so close to the run and why they were not padded.

Can someone say investigation? What do you wanna bet there's going to be some srious second thoughts when competitors get ready to go down the luge run.

If the news reports are true then folks have been upset about the speed of this track for a while. I myself wonder why there was no darn catch fence along the column line. They say the speed through some sections of the course is over 90 MPH. This poor soul was considered slow at only 88 MPH.

Peace and vibes to the young mans family...

The sudden stop is always the deal breaker...... sure hope they do something about it before it cost someone else!
