Default TR: Gettin' Deep in the Beav (Beaver Creek, 1.22.12)

It finally snowed in Colorado. We thought the day would never come. Beaver Creek reported 10" at 5:00am yesterday, but by the time the lifts opened at 8:30, it was more like 14-15". Easily 16-20" in most spots up higher on the mountain thanks to wind loading and new trails being opened. After lapping all the good stuff for the first 2-3 hours, our crew of Jason, Jay, Mike, and I stopped to take some pictures to document the glory. This is what we came away with.

Jay enjoys skiing deep blower snow in his fancy vest.

Mike, with a little storm skiing action:

Jason wipes twice with the soft fluffy snow:

I'd say it was worth the wait, but I'd be lying. We should have been skiing this stuff two months ago:

Jason's lifestyle shot, waiting to watch Jay shred:

Where did Jay go?

Then the sun came out, and it got even better:

Money shot!

I love that you can see the determination in his eyes.... to make sure he looks good for the camera.

And a parting shot from the wonderfulness that is Beaver Creek. Til next time:

I know it's a combination of your photo taking skills and equipment, but Jay's setup is sweet!

Yeah, just wait... if we get more snow this winter, he's going to take it up a notch from there.

all he needs is a lime or blue helmet to stand out from the white room shots.

Nice. Keystone only got 6" or so, and we stuck to Dercum the whole time. Can't wait till we can hit those powder lines. Is that in bounds where you normally go?

Yep, in-bounds. You'd have to be a fool to go OB right now with this snowpack. There's plenty of good stuff in-bounds anyways.
