Default 1/29 Ober TR

So this will be my last TR for a while as I will be heading back to Missouri tomorrow morning. So I guess Ober wanted to make things hard for me to leave as today was near epic. They made a ton of snow since Sunday am. When I got there today the Special Olympics were in full swing. Because of the festivities Ober Chute did not get the initial grooming it needed. When I got there OC and Lower Bear were closed. Grooming was happening on LB.

It was an amazing day with the guns and fans only going on the top of the mountain.

About 3 or so they finished grooming OC and LB and opened up the top. Pretty sweet. Had a couple of rollers for some small hits and the snow was a great loose snow condition. They made a ton of snow. When I left Saturday OC was still green and today it looked like they had been making snow on it for a week. On MR they made so much snow a lot of the bumps filled in. I actually asked if they had groomed it was so smooth in some spots.

There were a couple of really good rollers on MR and with smooth landings some of the kids were throwing some good jumps in. It was a snow day (don't know why) so there was a good crowd of locals on hand. Great day on the snow, with some great conditions. Oh and they turned on 1 gun on the top of Grizzly as I was getting ready to leave. My thought is they will blow a water base, freeze it, then blow good snow on top so it will last longer. Look for it to come online by the weekend. To end here is a shot of the Special Olypics on Castle Run.

If they can keep everything open for a couple of weeks I might be able to get me some of that. Blake? Weekend after the summit?
